Customers at high risk of contracting COVID at Dischem

I thought I was imagining things when we arrived at the Dischem in Norwood to find a long queue of people at the clinic waiting to be assisted. Luckily we had made an appointment (like we always do) and waited for just over 20 minutes to get help. I asked the nurse why it was so full and she told me that they are now also doing Covid19 testing. I was so shocked because we had been sitting there with our 9 month old baby, who was going to get her routine vaccinations amongst people who were obviously there because they suspected that they had contracted the virus. Need I remind you that the waiting area is extremely small, not to mention the two tiny rooms that they use for patients/customers that are not well ventilated at all, ie, no windows. With so many health care facilities available to do Covid tests, I fail to understand why Dischem decided to facilitate these tests as well. I would understand if Dischem was solely a health care facility but people shop here as well, putting them at risk if some people are coming out with a positive COVID-19 result at these clinics. This is reckless to say the least and we may think it’s clubs and funerals that are super spreaders of the virus but this is it as well. Even when we walked into the room for our turn, there was no spraying/whipping down of any surface by the nurse, she just started handling our baby like it was business as usual. I’m actually getting a headache just typing this, we’re extremely disappointed.
