cashiers are liked tinned fish

The Dischem cashiers are so squashed together and to get to them you have to follow a snake trail of shelves making manoeuvring with a trolley or pram almost impossible. And then when you are being cashed up there is literally 1.5m gap between the shelves and you that if another customer needs to pass then you like climbing over the table to let them pass. Why is it so cramped and nobody seems to care?
