Can't get medication at Dischem

I went to Dischem Eastgate on the 11th of November 2023 to pick up my prescription which I have done many times previously. When I arrived at the pharmacy section there was no queue and a single person being served. I observed 2 other people behind the counter but was not called on. Soon a queue began to form behind me. Eventually the person being served finished and I was called to that cubicle. The pharmacist insisted that my medication was ready for collection even though I had not made any such arrangements or received any notification that this was the case. She spent twenty fruitless minutes searching for the non-existent collection while the rest of the queue behind me were served and left. She eventually gave up and fetched the medication from the shelves. Once I received the medication, I went to the tills to pay. There were only two people waiting to be called ahead of me and a number of cashiers. I was quickly by the cashier, and she told me the system was telling her that the medication was already paid for. She said she was going to get it fixed and left. I waited twenty minutes and then went to find a manager. I found one busy showing personal pictures to a. couple of staff members instead of managing the store. I explained the situation and said that I was leaving. She asked me to give her two minutes and said that she had my prescription and was sorting it out. I waited five minutes, there was no sign of her, and I left without my medication, a full fifty-five minutes after I arrived at the pharmacy section. I called Dischem this morning on *** and requested that a manager call me. No response and I was not surprised- they don't care.

I think the service at Dischem Eastgate stinks, and that the management should stop socializing and start managing the store. It is disgraceful that one can enter a relatively quiet store and leave without one's chronic meds.
