Bad Advertising and customer relations

Good day Sir or Madam.

I hope this email finds you well.

I was at the cavendish branch yesterday evening to buy some pampers.

And grabbed one of the brochures which are always readily available at the front door. Headed straight to the pampers and looked at the R179/189 promo on all of the pampers. I however needed one pack to buy. And to my dismay, it was an expired brochure. It dated the end I think the 27th of November 22.

I then had to ask two of the workers why the brochure which was outdated was still by the front door yet the promo was over?

Honestly the first person {male} did not know why? And he went away to talk with another person colleague after he had told me he would call someone to assist me? Maybe a manager?

I called for assistance from one the staff asked the same questions and he called the supervisor according to him? The assumebly supervisor came and I told him my views and he seemed to understand and he as well said he will tell his supervisor? That okay I should go to the till and he will discount the difference in the price to suit the black Friday promo advert in brochure.

My thoughts I shared were as below

“why is the brochure still by the entrance if the black Friday promo has ended?

It can be perceived as false adverts if I use the brochure as reference, cause some as clients we look through and want or need the items we see by the advertised price.

The gentleman told me the brochure is still there cause there are some items in the brochure continuing on promo? I further asked if it is not then wise to put a sign to alert me as a customer of the continuation of certain products by a poster or a print out by the door. Surely marketing should have thought about this? I was denied the price of the pampers promo with an “ am sorry my supervisor said he cant authorise the discount?’ at this point am now kind of confused who am I speaking with? Wasn’t he the one called as supervisor by the other staff member? Is the a communication problem? The manager never came? The authority I had requested to help me.

I left the items and left for clicks next door.

My question?

Was it difficult to have new brochures for new promos?

Was it rather easy to capitalise to sell other products maybe overstocked and ignore the terms of the brochure in relation to me as a customer that I wouldn’t quickly assume the continuation without being informed?

This happened at cavendish dischem.onthe 29th at maybe around 17h00 and so minutes.

Concern customer
