Medical Aid ****. Dischem Health

We have had the worst experience with Dischem Health. when we purchased the medical aid… it was presented to us as a medical aid. I migrated 10 Staff with full benefits from momentum to Dischem. but when it now comes time for claim. A emergency room visit… they say medical insurance. After paying for more than four years we are now using the medical aid for the first time. I am sitting in the emergency room at Etekwini heart Hospital with my staff member in. Bad condition. now when we are phoning for what they call GOP which is guarantee for payment and for pre-authorisation, they now say that they look at symptoms Before they give GOP and authorisation. An uneducated case agent/s with limited clinical knowledge is making diagnosis for doctors. So without establishing a diagnosis or prognosis in the emergency room before we even seen a triage doctor…they are declining. Saying the symptoms aren’t covered. a disgusting farce. a terrible medical aid, terrible health insurance. DONT fall for the liE. do your research. I now have to move my 10 staff away from Dischem Health back to momentum. at least they will pay when we go to the hospital. I am disgusted by the service and by the treatment of faithful clients of this so called Medical aid/ insurance. I will never use you again. I will go to the ombudsman and I will not let this thing rest I will make sure that I take you to task.
