Do not cover private hospitals

My 22-month-old son was seriously ill and the treating doctor requested hospital admission. Dis-Chem Health/Prime Cure declined the admission and referred us to a State facility.

Despite contacting them and explaining that the diagnosis code did not accurately reflect the severity of my child’s condition, no meaningful reconsideration took place.

We were ultimately forced to seek private paediatric care and pay additional medical and medication costs ourselves.

As a paying member, I expected far better service, compassion, and clinical consideration when dealing with a seriously ill toddler. Extremely disappointed with the experience.
