Dischem Health / Kaelo Medical insurance

Don't take Dischem Health insurance. I have been a Premium member of this health insurance since 2024 & paying over R2500pm. I have a few days ago had an accident which I had to go to the hospital for. I was referred to the specialist who insisted I get admitted. However when we called for authorization it was denied. Due to my deteriorating injury I fell again and was rushed to the hospital, when we called for authorization in casualty they specifically stated no admission, before even me seeing the doctor, how is this even possible? Im left with an extremely painful injury which is causing me so much agony and possibly further accidents due to me not being able to move without assistance. Its truly a real disappointment and I will be searching for another provider.

To those thinking that its value trust me its not. There is no assistance from them & each authorization needs to go to a case manager who declines leaving you stuck in hospital for hours whilst waiting for your authorization which is always declined.
