Appalling Service and Deliberate Misinformation- Benefits change on the Go, you don't get what you signed up for

A Warning to All Consumers: Kaelo-Dischem Health I am writing this review as a serious warning to anyone considering Kaelo-Dischem Health Insurance. My experience, and the experiences of those I've referred, has been a complete nightmare of broken promises, rejected claims, and systemic failures.

Misled, Denied, and Ignored I am currently fighting to have a gynecology claim paid out—an annual benefit I am entitled to. Before the appointment, I called for guidance and was explicitly told by a Primecure consultant that no pre-authorization was needed. I followed their instructions precisely, only to have my claim rejected. This is not just poor service; it's deliberate misinformation.

A Pattern of Declining Benefits and Failed Systems This is far from an isolated incident. The problems run deep:

Medication Not Covered: My sister, whom I referred, recently had to pay R800 for her child's medication because it was not covered. I had a similar experience when a R35 medication prescribed by their own online doctor was rejected at their own Dis-Chem pharmacy. You are on your own after the consultation. They have never covered any Dr prescribed meds for my family this year.

Unresolved Complaints: This is my second formal complaint, and my first one remains completely unresolved.

Failed App: The Dis-Chem app, which is required for submitting claims, has not worked for me for weeks, making it impossible to manage my benefits, this includes they same claim they are still refusing to pay. That's three major issues, and all my attempts to resolve them have been ignored.

The Most Alarming Failure: Abandoning the Elderly The most shocking failure involves my mother. When I signed her up, the plan covered over 26 chronic conditions. Yet, when she was in ER for common issues like hypertension and a UTI, her claims were rejected while she was still in the hospital. This is a terrifying prospect for anyone relying on this insurance for critical care.

I acted in good faith based on the information provided by Dischem Kaelo own staff. The level of incompetence is unacceptable. Please, learn from others mistakes and stay away from this company.
