Above inflation increase without explanation and justification
I have just received notice that the monthly premium will be increasing by more than 11%. This increase is unjustified as there are no evident changes to benefits, or any meaningful incentive for policy holders. Most service providers or insurers would at least provide some reasoning behind the increase. This is not the case with Dis-chem Health. It is unacceptable that an increase which is way above inflation is incurred without any justification or reason especially in these tough economic times!

I would like to highlight that, as this is an insurance plan rather than a medical aid, there is greater potential to manage medical costs more effectively. It is important to consider the needs of your clientele, many of whom fall within older age brackets and are unable to afford traditional medical aid.
Members such as myself face the reality that, upon retirement, this product may no longer be financially sustainable. We rely significantly on access to medical support and assistance, and the rising costs are making this plan increasingly unaffordable. Should this trend continue, it is likely to result in a notable increase in cancellations.
