Rod for their own backs

I have had a Diners Club card since 1986. Unless memory fails me, I have settled the balance on the card in full and on time for each of the last 350 plus months. My card's validity terminates tomorrow on 31 January 2020, and I have not received a new card.

This may be due to the entry of Diners Club into the credit card world (Diners, up to now, has firmly stressed that it is a charge card). As part of the logistical nightmare that they have created for themselves, contact with them has led to one broken promise after another ("we will call you". "we will send you forms for signature").

It gets worse. I have been told ("this conversation is being recorded") that I need to jump through the hoops for their new credit card (send this, send that) and if I want to stay on the present basis, my credit limit will be cut by 80% - not even enough for two air tickets to London!

Diners, and I mix my metaphors, you are shooting yourselves in the foot and if it's not broken, don't fix it.
