DINERS CLUB. A TRIP TO NOWHERE. SERVICE NON-EXISTANT

33 YEARS MEANS NOTHING!!!!!!! I joined Diners Club in 1986 and have used this card as a back up should I need it and for overseas travel. I opted for it at the time as I wanted a charge card and NOT a credit card. Fortunately I was never required to make extensive use of it but willingly paid the exhorbitant fees and tolerated the lack of merchants willing to take the card due to their exhorbitant fees as well. I guess that DINERS CLUB and their consort STANDARD W--K have degenerated into the mire of pathetic service and total disregard of customer service and total lack of self pride and pride in the organisation. They purport to be an "Elite" card facility and "Whether for personal use or for business, Diners Club makes it truly rewarding to Belong." I am not sure for whom it is rewarding to belong but it is certainly not their clients. I was surprised to find an email in my "JUNK MAIL" dating back to November 2018 advising that my account was closed due to it not being used in the previous 12 months with No offer to return my annual fee paid in advance. I logged into my "CLOSED ACCOUNT" and even changed my password but could access nothing else. A call to the call centre, as I leave for the USA in 4 days and required the card to be activated, answered by Isabella managed to provide me with the reason that they were required to do an "Affordability Check" and I should have been contacted. She was going to follow up and return the call. STILL WAITING I require that I be refunded for the period that my account was closed but for which I had paid and they can shove their useless card into a spot that it may be worthy of fitting.
