Card type not supported by most SA businesses

I'm just wondering if Diners Club SA is affiliated with the Master card network at all as almost no vendors accept this card type. We are being declined 9/10 times by south african businesses and its extremely embarrassing. I'm having to carry around other cards to bail me out of an almost expected disappointment when payment is required.
