Beware of the surprise fees for Airport Lounges

I received my Diners Club account this month and to my amazement there was a total of R1239 fees for airport Lounges (7 visits since October last year until the end of Dec 2014). I have actually kept my Diners club card over the years for this facility offered, even though as an aside the quality offered in Bidvest lounges has dropped significantly.<br> I called Diners and was told by a Lady Melissa who kept talking over me, much to any ones annoyance, that the rules changed in 2012 (First I knew anything about this!!!!) and that if you did not spend R12,000 per month on your card you ended up paying for using airport lounges.<br> I was furious. The main advantage for me of paying for this card and service had been taken away and I did not even know it.<br> They even keep it a SECRET (No mention anywhere) for 3 months allowing you to run up more costs unwittingly at Airport Lounges, in case you suddenly have a spending spree!!! Then wallop 3 random months Oct,Nov,Dec have passed wait another month and then bill the unsuspecting customer.. Weird thing is I spent well in excess of R12,000 in January.<br> So we must now keep track of spending-Can I use the lounge free today!!!! I am disgusted!!!
