Account closed means just that

My DinersClub card was settled in 2013 as part of a debt consolidation. However, settlement does not seem to mean that the account is closed! I am now getting calls to tell me that my account is in arrears. Everytime I explain to them that the account has been settled and I no longer have the card, but it doesn't seem to register with them!<br> <br> And the service fee just compounds! Surely when an account is settled, it should be closed? <br> <br> Banks making money, as usual!
