FNB Connect & Digital Planet delivering wrong laptop specs and forcing contract cancellation

I placed a 36-month contract order through FNB Connect for a high-specification laptop. The order was fulfilled and delivered by Digital Planet (Order #FNB***).

Upon delivery, I discovered they delivered a lower-specification model than what was advertised and agreed upon. This is a direct violation of Section 41 of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA).I contacted customer support, and an agent called me to state that they will not process a direct swap or exchange for the correct machine. Instead, they are forcing me to cancel my entire active FNB contract and re-order.

This is completely unacceptable. Under Section 56(2) of the CPA, the choice of remedy belongs to the consumer. Forcing a cancellation subjects me to a brand-new FNB credit check, risk of price increases, and stock issues—all to fix Digital Planet’s delivery error.

I refuse to cancel my contract. I demand that a manager contacts me immediately to arrange a courier swap: collect the wrong device and deliver the exact high-spec laptop I am paying for. If this is not resolved swiftly, a formal complaint will be escalated to the CGSO.
