Digital Planet/ FNB delivered a cracked TV and are not willing to replace the TV

My 87-year old mother was offered an opportunity to purchase a device through FNB and opted for a 65" Hisense Smart TV. The TV was delivered and although was a sticker stating "please check your device"", there is no way she could have checked it simply due to the size of the TV. I contacted Digital Planet who was adamant that my mom should have checked the device. I was then told the matter would be escalated to Hisense. Please note, when the TV was unboxed, there was no visible damage on the screen. I was only once the TV was switched on that it showed a severe crack. Hisense, without having seen the TV stated they are not responsible. The box showed no signs of outer damage. There was no reason for my mom to even think that the TV inside could be damaged. The way this matter has been handled is so sad as my Mom is now the victim and our integrity is being questioned. The TV and box showed nothing of concern. After the crack was seen once the TV was switched on, you could see a mark because you were specifically looking for it. I will never encourage anyone to take up a deal offered by FNB through Digital Planet.

I basically got a reply that we are responsible for the damage to the TV which is absolutely not the case. Just as I encouraged my Mom to change to FNB, I will take her banking back to Standard Bank. We are supposed to get another form of feedback from Digital Planet. Being falsely access is not my idea of good business practice. We are no longer interested in further accusations. You can come and fetch your broken TV. We really not interested in FNB or Digital Planet any further.
