Digicape's imcompetence cost me nearly R20 000.00
My MacBook Pro died and I took it to Digicape where I'd bought it. Digicape quoted me R22 239.07 to replace the logic board. I declined the quote. Unfortunately I then bought a new computer — a Mac Mini for R19 704.00 — because I believed Digicape and I urgently needed a computer.
Subsequently a friend looked at my MacBook Pro. It took him a few minutes to determine that the problem was not the logic board but the battery. After replacing the battery the machine works perfectly. Cost of the new battery was R1 999.00.
So I am nearly R20 000 out of pocket for a new computer I didn't need. I was interested to see that Digicape offers no warranty on their repairs. Wonder what would have happened if I'd paid the R22 239.07 for a new logic board? Because the machine would still have been broken.
I am so sorry to hear of your poor experience. I can assure you this is not the service we pride ourselves on. I have escalated this issue and I understand the department head has already reached out to you.
Sincere apologies,
The Digicape Service Team
