Digicape sold me a second hand Macbook - Please be aware when buying from them

Dear Digicape

I hope you find this complaint well.

I bought a brand new Macbook Pro Max M3 on 6 November 2025 for R55 200.

At that time, I was outside of the country, and the Macbook was delivered to my mother’s house.

A few weeks ago, when I got back to SA, I opened it for the first time. Just after putting it on for the first time, I realizedthat the warranty is expiring on 22 May 2025. Normally a warranty is only starting the first day you put the device on.

I took this up with Digicape and they said I need to contact Apple so that they can confirm the first day the laptop has been powered up. Apple send me an email and confirm that the Macbook was powered up for the first time 22 May 2024 and Digicape sold me a second hand laptop. They advised that I open a ***** case against Digicape and they can’t change the warranty date to the day I bought it or the first time I powered it up.

After a week, Digicape told me I need to sort this out myself with Apple and request that they change my warranty date. Once again, Apple refuses, because they have the exact day, time and second the laptop was powered up.

The only option I have left is taking this to the Ombudsman and social media, because Digicape is refusing to assist me with this *****ulent transaction, according to Apple.

Regards
