RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Last week I received a call from iSmart telling me that I was due for an upgrade. A telephone application was done and I was asked for my Human Resources Contact person numbers which I gave. At no time during this conversation was i told that I have to get a letter from my employer confirming my employment.

To my amazement today I received an SMS saying that iSmart was unable to confirm my employment and could I call them back.

On calling back around 14h07 I spoke to a lady who told me that I had to get a letter from my employer and send it to her. I wanted to ask her what number did they have on the system so that I could give her an alternative number, just in case people were on lunch when they called. She didnt want to hear any of that and emphasized that I should obtain a letter from my employer to prove my employment and telling me that this is the procedure that is used now. When i asked her why I was never told this from the onset she was just so rude and didnt want to hear whatever my argument was.

I dont think I deserved such an attitude from a Call Centre Agent. You cant chop and change rules as you wish. If this was company policy, why was I not informed from the word go that I need to obtain my own confirmation letter instead of wasting my time like that just because they can ?

I must reiterate that this is not the first time the iSmart Agents have been rude to me, most of them are are a bunch of rude, uncultured and uncouth airheads who dont know heck about customer service !

Dear Portia Khulu

I would like to apologise for the inconvenience this matter has caused and for the service you have received.

I will be retrieving the voice recording for Friday and will give you feedback on the outcome.

The employment process has not changed. Due to our employment verification department not being able to get through to your employer we have requested a letter in order to pass the application. I have tried calling the work contact number as unable to get through, as discussed i will continue the contact attempts throughout the day.

I will remain in contact with you throughout the day in order for the application to progress.

Kind Regards

Marriana Vollenhoven

iSmart Customer Services Manager

Best regards,
