Misrepresentation of MTN and poor service

I was called by ‘MTN mobile’ and asked if I would like to upgrade my contract. I was due for an upgrade and they offered me a combination package that suited me and was not offered at the MTN store so I agreed. I did not provide any personal info and they had all my MTN contract information so I thought it was a legitimate MTN transaction. I received a sms staying that my contract was upgraded and told my phone would be delivered in a few days. Delivery took a bit longer but arrived. I first had to upgrade operating system which I found odd. Then I discovered the iPhone keypad was faulty and could not dial. The MTN number that they provided me was of no help. I then went to the MTN store who said they have to send it in and can’t do much to help me as I procured from 3rd party. It was only at that point that I realized that the contract term is also longer. I never signed anything and still don’t really know what I’ve signed up for. When I call the original number I was called on the I get the answering service of ‘Summer Mobile’ so that is my only link to source. Everything else is branded as MTN.

Still no sign of new phone.

How could MTN allow a third party to have all my detail without my consent. Serious bridge of security and trust.
