Attempt to significantly increase price after sale.

Desertcart (https://www.desertcart.co.za) advertised a product for R14,499 plus R599 delivery charge, and accepted payment for the same on the 21st August 2022 (order #: ***).

The next day I was contacted by Desertcart to inform me that they wished to add on “an extra shipping charge: R6,080” in addition to the R599 delivery charge that was originally advertised i.e. > 11 times the original advertised delivery charge.

An e-mail from me requesting Desertcart to honour the original advertised delivery price and product purchase, in which I mentioned “false advertising”, was met with a decidedly unsatisfactory response.

I have instructed my bank to decline any payment requests from the company, and will not be using Desertcart again.
