My daughter went to Roodepoort department of home affair this morning to apply for a child birth certificate. She was told to go and apply at Limpopo because the baby was born there. My contact details *** Below is what their Website say Yes, you can apply for a birth certificate in a different province from where the child was born in South Africa. You can visit any Department of Home Affairs office countrywide to register the birth or request a certificate, as long as you have the required documents. Key Details: Application Location: Applications can be made at any Department of Home Affairs office or South African Embassy (if abroad). Required Documentation: You will need to present your ID, the other parent's ID (if applicable), and the original hospital proof of birth (DHA 24/PB).
