DHET never fails to disappoint
I have been an employee for 9 years and my interaction with the department was horifying. The HR department is useless and incompetend. I resigned recently and was told that I can wait up to a year before my benefits can be paid out. It is a process that is not supposed to take more than 60 days. This is gross derelict of duty and the Director should be charged for running a poor performing department. I am absolutely disgusted.

04 May 2021, 15:06In 2017 I app**** to have my salary notch correctec. I had to go through alot of trouble to address the issue by taking DHET to Labor Court. Lawyers and Advocate was appointed and I had to pay the bill. In 2019 they made a payout, but the wrong amount. They only paid the back payment from 2012 to 2019. They still haven't paid the deficit from June 2019 to March 2021. They lost the case in Labor Court in 2018 with cost and still have not paid my legal team. I am now liable to pay the legal fees. I want my outstanding money and the legal fees to be paid in full. I want my severance package to be paid out in the prescribed time. DHET is really pathetic.
