Worst school administrator and Dpt of Education Johannesburgburg East district treatment.

I went to Asteri Primary School (Houghton) for admission for my 5year old son, when I got there I dealt with Lorraine(very helpful) and Mr Modise (at first thought helpful but rude) when I got there I filled out the forms and left them and was told I'd receive letter of appointment once the payments have been done.

A week or 2 later I received a call from the school to check how far I was I explained that I was at work and finances were not good but I'd come through and the exact words received were " we will hear from you" .

I then called the school finding out how it was regarding my space and Mr Modise said " the principal has closed the applications due to lack of furniture and not capacity " I will look into the kids that did not come to classes and would give you the space"

I then called after a week when I was not receiving any sort of communication,after that conversation and spoke to Lorraine and she said she'd get back to me, I then called the school and got ahold of Mr Modise who then advised I go to the district, I then went to the district and spoke to a Cosmos that has spoken to Mr Modise and gave me a referral letter for the school to accept admission.

When I got to the school, what a sickening attitude I got from Mr Modise now wanting to change stories that he told me to go to the district to get space anywhere of which those were not his words, if that were the case Cosmos wouldn't have given go ahead after speaking to him .

I then called Cosmos that told me that "my child wasn't the 1st nor last child that doesn't have a school. I'm going to the school with the mentality that I have a letter and I think I know too much"

How disappointing especially after running around for an hour 45min trying to find the wrong district on the internet only to come back to Barnato( a 5min walk from my house) , I honestly don't know what to say, South Africa has a law that that says " Children have the right to an education and responsibility to respect the teachers and school laws" but my child Is being declined space because of a stinking attitude from both Mr Modise and Cosmos and because of mere furniture , if I'm experiencing this then how many kids have been sent home and are not in school????

Very sickening I must say and I'll always have a question mark about this school and not happy with it.

I've been sitting outside the school since 14h00 and now it's 14h48 and a cleaner comes and tells me she's leaving and the principal does not want to be disturbed I must come on Monday, I ended up shouting at her, due the frustration I've been having since 8 looking for the district and she tells me that's why I was left there with no help, I literally got mad, that this Is th3 attitude I get from LITERALLY EVERYONE in the office just to hand over the letter to the principal and get space to for the school.
