Star Customer Service Rating for the DOE Employees

Re: Star Customer Service Rating for the DOE Employees.

My name is Nolitha Zohar Ndlazi, I am a South African teacher in Thailand and currently in South Africa to upgrade my grade 12 after graduating from Inanda Seminary in Durban years ago. I decided to upgrade 9 subjects and Chatsworth Secondary School in Durban is where I sit for my 21 exam papers. I am writing to inform you, the DOE as well as South Africa at large, about the most beautiful customer service experience I have received at different DOE service centers in my time in SA. I am at Chatsworth Secondary School almost daily from April 29 and I should be done with exams on 12 June 2024 and leave to teach English in Thailand on 14 June 2024.The day I arrived at Chatsworth Secondary school on April 29 straight from a flight from Thailand, I first met the super helpful, friendly and professional receptionists at Chatsworth High School on the day I landed in SA for my English Paper 1. The receptionists charged my laptop and assisted with logistics of going home after the exam as I had misplaced my phone on a taxi to the airport in Bangkok Thailand. The one receptionist offered to take me home after the exam paper, however, I did not know nor have at hand the address details nor remembered her mobile number by heart. I was then introduced to Vice Principal Reddy who allowed me to use his laptop to email my friend for her home address as well as telephone numbers because I remembered the friend's email address but not her mobile number. I wrote my first paper without stress because they had solved my dilemma on how to get to my temporary home after the exam paper.

Deputy Principal Mr. Reddy assisted me with the Fiela Se Kind Afrikaans novel which I did not have, and some past Afrikaans exam papers which I used for practice. I also met with the school principal Mr. Arthur Luckhan whom I had time to observe his dedication when I sat at the front desk area to revise for the exam papers . The principal has also agreed that I use their school for my PGCE in Life Orientation and History practical this coming October 2024. I have also come to see the other teachers, students, parents, security because I have about 21 papers to sit for and I am almost at their school daily and usually hours before the exam start time. The learners are polite, groomed and they greet and that goes for everyone else. The school has been a breath of fresh air in my period of visit in South Africa, they gave me beautiful, valuable memories and they have made my trip worth it. I am blown by the outstanding, professional and efficient service from the school. The exam invigilators have also been amazing, and I thank you for the great service they are providing.

I also went to the Department of Education Head Office in Durban for my CAT Practical School arrangement, and I received a prompt, super-efficient and excellent service. They placed me at George Campbell School of Technology for CAT Practical because the school has computers for CAT, and they also provided the relevant papers for me to sit for the exam at the school. The DOE also called me the day before the exam to remind me about my CAT Practical writing center as well as the time of the exam, which was exceptional service.

I would also like to mention Inanda Seminary from where I graduated high school years ago, because the staff was eager to assist when I informed them about my return to Upgrade Grade 12. They emailed me the English Home Language novel, poems, questions, past papers, timetable as well as any relevant information also related to CAT papers. My boarding school was excited for me, they went an extra mile to ensure that I had the relevant information I needed for this journey of Upgrading Grade 12 results.

George Campbell's staff gave some good customer service when I visited the school. They made sure that our practical work was saved on a separate disc to be sent to the DOE after the exam and we were then allowed to go home.

Upgrading Grade 12 has been a touching and close to heart experience because when my dad died, I partially lost my memory and I do not recall some key events of my life like the experience of writing grade 12 at Inanda Seminary in Durban although I passed with an Exemption and went to UWC varsity for my studies and also graduated from UWC. This Grade 12 upgrade is a very emotional experience because I am given a second chance to have a Grade 12 exam writing experience, reconnect to a lost memory and be able to restore the childhood events experiences. The DOE staff has made my stay in Durban beautiful. full of memorable moments and made it my awesome moment to be here because of exceptional customer service.

I take my hat off and bow 7 times the Japanese way for the exceptional, outstanding and awesome customer service experience I have received from DOE staff in general.

Thank you.

Kind Regards,

Nolitha Zohar Ndlazi
