****** in Schools against children by teachers

I want to log a formal complaint against a teacher from Silverfields Primary School in Krugersdorp for ****** against Gr 6 pupil (11 year old's). I have sent an email seeking assistance with the matter and yet to receive advise on which channels to take in order to deal with the teacher in question. Mrs. Suzette Hannekom who refused a learner to take her medication in class following their break. She yelled and screamed at the learner and told them she did not care that they were not feeling well and needed to take medicine. Furthermore, she went on to throw ****** statements at the learners for making noise and is alleged to have said "why don't you put a tyre on my neck and set me alight because that is what YOU PEOPLE do"

On Tuesday, 28th Feb 2023, I sent the teacher in question a message to advise of the learner not feeling well and will not be coming in to school. I in addition made mention of the incident where she made a racial statement onto the learners. Mrs Hannekom ignore my text and merely read it. I escalated the matter to the Deputy Principal of the school who later advised that the Principal had instructed the teacher to call me and apologize. She gave a half apology, with no accountability nor remorse. Displaying a person who has gotten away with such conduct and it comes as second-nature to be ******.

My nephew who was in her class over 4 years ago attested to the teacher's rude and ****** nature. There is no way the Principal is not aware of this and he still has her as an educator of such disgusting behaving taking shelter in his school.

We have come a long way as a country against apartheid and **************s to still be dealing with such behavior in 2023. Worst part, towards children in primary level. This is enough to scar our children and leave them with similar traumas as our people prior democracy.

This woman can no longer be kept in schools. She needs to be fired!
