I have been waiting for my grade 12 certificate for 6 months now

It is so sad to see how we not taken serious when it comes to government offices, I matriculated 2014 I did not collect my grade 12 certificate from school I went in late they told me that certificates that were not collected went back to the department, that time there was no one working at home to assist me with transport money to Pretoria to collect my certificate. I was using my statement all this time with no issue until this year(2022) I tried applying at a private higher institution they told me that they don't accept the statement of results I should apply for the certificate GDE, I app**** for my grade 12 certificate online on the 13/01/2022 I have been calling every week to check the progress as I was worried that the applications will close, I called until the applications were closed every time I'm referred from pillar to post today it's the 29/06/2022 it's crystal clear that I won't be able to apply again for 2023 I'm exhausted I would like to know how to cancel that application even if they can keep the fee that I paid it's okay.
