GDE school placement process

In May this year I app**** at 3 schools in the south of Johannesburg. The school closest to me The Hill primary was full and the other 2 in Alberton, according to the GDE was too far from where I reside, Alberton high 10km/ 14 min and Marais Viljoen 7.9km/16m away from my house. Today I received a call from the gde offering placement at schools I didn't apply for (kibler park secondary) and 22km away from my house. Now that doesn't make sense at all!!! I wish we can go back to the old way of getting our children in the best schools and schools of our choice. This of having to rely on a damn system that is flawed is NOT on!!!
