GDE grade 1&8 online applications- placement process

With the Gauteng department of education placement process. Some students have been placed and the schools are already busy with orientation while other have no idea of what is going on. The department is not giving us light as to how far the placement is. The status of applications have been " application is being processed". For over a month and we don't hear anything on the media or the website. Grade 8 Kids are starting exams stressing cause they don't even know if they are accepted or will be placed at schools. Please keep us posted as to what is going on. It is heartbreaking to witness schools doing orientation while you are in the dark. No assistance when you call the department. You are either told to hold of they don't know anything.
