Subject: Urgent Complaint Regarding Forced Removal of Shoes at Blessed Luanda Primary School

I am writing this letter on behalf of the concerned parents of Blessed Luanda Primary School, situated in the rural area of Donnybrook, Kwazulu-Natal. Our collective concern revolves around the school's practice of forcing learners to take off their shoes, exposing them to the cold floor, even during winter. This practice has resulted in numerous cases of lost shoes, despite repeated complaints from parents.

We brought this matter to the attention of the school, and on the 20th of January, we collectively addressed the issue on the parents' WhatsApp group, insisting that this practice must cease. The school requested a written complaint, and we promptly submitted a letter to that effect. However, the recent developments have left us deeply troubled.

Yesterday, at 11h56, Mr. Principal, sent a notice via the parents' WhatsApp group, inviting us to a meeting scheduled for 09h30. The short notice made it difficult for many working parents to attend. To our dismay, the meeting did not address the primary concern of forced removal of shoes, and instead, Mr. Phoswa a member of the School Governing Body, threatened legal action against parents who expressed their opinions on the matter.

Parents are now hesitant to voice their concerns due to the ************ tactics employed during the meeting. We request clarity from the Department of Education on whether the school's actions align with appropriate educational standards. Furthermore, we urge the school principal to provide evidence of the alleged insults as no such incidents occurred on the parents' group.

The fear of reprisal is stifling the voices of concerned parents, impacting our ability to advocate for the well-being of our children. During a previous meeting, the principal conveyed that dissatisfied parents should withdraw their children from the school, which is not a feasible option for many due to the school's proximity to our homes.
