First preference to children who reside in Lenasia South Ext 4, to attend Kiasha Park Primary School

<p>It's the second week since the schools open effective from last week Wednesday, however my daughter is still sitting at home. How does this reflect on me as a parent. We've been to the school, did everything that was required of us. The fact that we've app**** late for the registration due to unforseen circumstances ,that was beyond our control, left us stranded. We've been referred by Kiasha Park Primary School to the Department of Education in order to process the registration and stating our reasons for the late registration. This has been done and we had to wait two days for a text message with a reference number. Upon receipt of the reference number, we had to go back to the school , to obtain a letter confirming that there's still space available and submitt this letter to the District offices in Crown mines. We went back to Kiasha Park Primary School on Monday and the only response we've received was ...OH sorry, but the department provided you with the incorrect information , because they had to provide the confirmation. Instead of travelling all the way from Lenasia South Ext 4, where we reside...matter of fact just opposite the school, we were informed by one of the community members that a representative from the District offices were are Lenasia South Secondary School and we might get assistance. We arrived at LS Secondary School and after communicating with the District representative we were informed that we had to wait for 10 days in order for them to process how many registrations were submitted and how many of these children, that were registered never follwed through with the attendance. Now my question and my concern is the following: Children from Freedom Park, Orange Farm, Zakariya Park and all other areas have been afforded an opportunity to attend Kiasha Park Primary School, whereas there are schools in all these areas. My child who is living opposite the school must wait for confirmation without any guarantee. Why should I send her to another school and incurr transport expenses when there is a school right opposite from where we stay... Should the residents/ children from Lenasia South EXt 4, not have or be given first preference. I am pleading with the Department of Education to please afford my child an opportunity towards education.</p>
