Failed by the District 14 Johannesburg Central, Gauteng eGov, GEPF and the Gauteng Department of Education

I am so disappointed in the department of education. My mother was an educator for 25 years of her life, until she passed on last year May 2024. The processing of her funeral benefits and pension funds from GEPF are extremely SLOW. We received the funeral benefits 3 months after her funeral. And we still haven't received the pension funds till this day 01 September 2025, it has been 1 year and 4 months since her passing and nothing is done to release her pension funds! The application documents go through the employer District 14 (D14) of the Johannesburg Central Education District in Gauteng. They have requested us to resend the application documents and the supporting documents multiple times because the certification stamp that was stamped by a Commissioner of Oaths at the police station was expired. Which means that when the documents are received, they do not work on the application immediately, it stays on the queue until the stamp expires, then we are requested to print the documents again and certify them, which is a very tiring process and there are multiple documents that are requested. I am deeply saddened by this because my mother woke up to go to work, paid her taxes and contributed to her pension funds everyday without fail. And this is how the system treats the beneficiaries of a person who worked so tirelessly to give back to the community and help shape our future generation. We have to deal with the loss of our mother and also stress about such processes which were supposed to be made easy for us.
