Children's safety

On the 6th of July 2020 grade 6 students were called back to school and my son attanded at mampudi primary school but unfortunately they had to come back due to confirmed covid19 case at the school. The students were given the news latter notifying the parents of the school situation and requesting the return of students on Wednesday the 8th of July 2020 and by then it was still early in the morning on the students arrival so the transport took the kids back home safe My child transport arrived at 6h45am to fetch him for school on the 8th of July 2020 as per the school request. At 10h50am my child walk in the house while I was watching the news and I asked him why is he early then he cried instead of responding. I calmed him down and he said that they were turned back because class rooms were not enough. I asked him if transport fetched him he said no he had to walk alone from school to home. It was cold and he had to walk alone for a long distance unsafe. I then drove with him to school so that I can find out what happened. On arrival at the school I met the gentleman at the gate and he offered to call me someone to attend to my concerns.He came back and the teacher by the name of Maseretele came and she was other two gentlemen. I was very furious and frustrated and I started to ask questions about my child's safety and the that the school never acted responsible by releasing children without considering the distance that will be traveled by the kids and the safety issues were not co considered. As I was shouting she ask for a chance to respond which I granted her and her response was that the issue was not about the class rooms and that the issue was about the teachers being in quarantine and only 3 pitched and that it was not enough manpower to take care of all the kids. I asked her if they checked before inviting the kids back on the news letter, the question is did they prepare for Wednesday before inviting the kids back. My concern was that if something had happened to him on his way back who was going to take responsibility and if he can get sick who will be paying the doctor's bill. One of the gentleman then intervened while I was shouting and he commented that they called the parents then I asked why was I not called if parents were called and then he said I must not shout and with arrogance commented that it was not only my child who walked back home unsafe. I went furious because of the comment because to me it sounded as if he doesn't are and that it was ok because other kids walked. The child was ****d in KZN after being turned back home by the teacher and mampudi's teachers are still taking such decisions without considering safety

I demand that the school need to explain the criteria used when kids were tuned back,did they consider the fact it was not safe for kids who had to walk long distance and considered what the cold of the day could course to their health?
