Basic education in gauteng

I am not happy about the application process that is used by gauteng department of education. I apply for my kid to the nearest school less than 3km and also preferred school which is more than 5km from home. My child did not get a place from those schools they decided to allocate her on a school that is more than 6 km from home. I don't believe on the process they are following to place our kids. I relate this to group areas act because you cannot take your kid to schools with resources as you are not staying on the arear of those schools. We would like to see our children receiving a better education than what we received 30 years ago.
