Poor quality kettle

I bought my kettle a year and a half ago and the color has changed and the paint is coming off and no longer looks the same as the toaster. I took it in at hirsche' s and yesterday I received a call that they won't be repairing or replacing and when I asked for the reasons the agent said de'longhi didn't provide reasons. What is the point of paying 5 times the price of other brands for a poor quality product and bad after-sales service? I will never buy this brand again!
