key is after sales integrity

In less than a year of purchasing my Dell laptop, the H Key loosened and came off. I have tried to fit it back but dont want to force it so duly phoned the support number. Why did I even bother. According to them this is "wear and tear" and therefore not covered by the warranty, in addition the entire key board has to be replaced and is for my cost at R1 800 including parts and labour. Wear and tear seems to be a convenient catch all for many organizations such as Dell to hide behind rather than taking ownership for their product quality (lack thereof) issues.

So thanks but no thanks Dell. You got money once but not ever again.
