Expensive laptop only has 1 year warranty :-(

I purchased a new Dell 14z Inspiron 5423 laptop from Incredible Connection in October 2013, after some persuasive sales pitch from a salesperson at the store. <br> <br> Within 8 months after purchase, I experienced the machine crashing a few times. Then, the screen became \blank""; the machine crashed a few more times; but was now out of warranty; so I just lived with the inconvenience. In recent days the machine has just become incredibly hot; and just now switches-off. Incredible connection has informed me that the thermistors are faulty and will need to be replaced at a cost of almost R12k; which is just as much as I originally paid for the machine :-(<br> <br> So; I got caught in not taking an extended warranty for a further R4k before the original manufacturer's warranty expired. If I new upfront that this would be the case; I could have opted for a more expensive machine in the first place. Extremely happy that after two years; my R12k is now useless and poorly spent.<br> <br> Would like to see Dell assist me with a goodwill gesture in this situation;as I obviously got a \""lemon\"" right in the beginning..."""
