I bought a Dell XPS 13 9365 on the 6th of August 2019. I paid R36 430 for the computer, thinking Dell is a great product and it isn't my first Dell I bought either. On the 5th of February 2020 my computer crashed completely. I contacted Dell support and they did their test and informed me that it was the hard drive that crashed. I have a 24 hour onsite warranty on the machine and that the machine will be sorted out by Friday, 7 February 2020. Thursday, 6 February 2020, I received a phone call informing me that they do not have any stock of any hard drives in South Africa and that the earliest availability will be Monday, 17 February 2020. I sent an email to their Customer support that it is unacceptable and that I want them to replace the machine as it wasn't even 6 months old. Two days later they informed me that they have been able to source an alternative part for me. The technicians arrived at my office yesterday, 12 February 2020. When I went out to see the technician, the guy informed me that he forgot the part at his house and his partner went to fetch it. I enquired about the word alternative and he assured me that it is a genuine Dell part that is being replaced. Later they informed me that they lost their windows installation stick and would come back to finish the call. When they came back later the afternoon, they informed me that they could not find the stick and that Dell will send me a stick and then I can finish the installation myself or they will coach me over the internet to do it. It is not my job!
If technicians cannot even install windows, how can I trust the work they have preformed. I do not trust that computer at all and the service I have been getting from them & Dell is extremely poor. They must replace the computer
