Charging port on Dell Computer Faulty

I bought a brand new Dell Inspiron 15 laptop in January 2015, In less than 6 months,, the charging port started to give me problems, and now in July I am battling to charge the laptop. This is disgusting. Dell, do you only build your computers to last 6 month and then start to give problems, There's no point in trying to send it back in under the warranty, because I work from home on a no work, no pay basis, so I would lose income, This is disgusting and I will tell everyone I know to never buy a Dell computer again in their lives.
