Poor lifespan of Defy DDW173/DDW174 Dishwasher

<p>To whom it may concern, I hope this message finds you well.<br /><br />The purpose of this review is to communicate my personal experience in respect of the Defy DDW173/DDW174 Dishwasher (Serial No: 14-111209-05), in order to inform the decisions of other consumers when purchasing a dishwasher.<br /><br />The dishwasher in question was purchased on the 03/08/2014 and subsequently experienced a significant mechanical failure on the 07/02/2017. It is noted that the dishwasher was only used for its intended purpose and no intentional damage was incurred during this period. It is also noted that the investigation undertaken by the Randburg branch of the Bergen's Appliance Repairs and Spares attributed the mechanical failure to the poor seal of the main motor. <br /><br />This evidence shows that the lifespan of this dishwasher was a little over two years (which just so happens to be beyond the warranty period of two years). </p> <p><br />This experience has created the impression that the dishwasher was designed to only last for the warranty period. If this is the case then this particular brand of dishwasher is of poor build quality and I would advise other consumers not to purchase this brand of dishwasher. <br /><br />Thank you.<br /><br /><br /></p>
