HomeWhiz app not available in South Africa for some obscure reason.

So I bought a brand new washing machine, (a DAW 387), the salesman and the manual tells me that I can "connect with my smart device", What they don't tell you is that the app is region locked. Apple or Android apps cannot be downloaded, (and to be honest, the reviews are terrible). Next time, don't advertise something that clearly does not work in South Africa

I wonder why we are not allowed to use the app in South Africa anyway, is there some secret function that is to advanced for us? We are not clever enough to use it? Or some law I should know about?
