Faulty Devy Gourmet Double Oven - problems from day 1

We bought a Defy Gourmet Oven (double oven) from Game, Potchefstroom during December 2017. Before the oven could be installed we noticed that the oven had two indents at the back. This oven was returned to Game and we received another oven. A qualified electrician came to install the oven. When he switched the oven on, the bottom oven made a flame and the electricity tripped. I reported the incident at Game, Potchefstroom. A Defy technician came out (about a week after) and indicated that a wire was not fixed during the manufacturing of the oven.

Then about a week later on Christmas day 2017 we heated the bottom oven to 180 degrees Celsius but before the oven even reached the said temperature the inner glass of the bottom oven door burst into a thousand pieces. I reported this incident via the Defy call centre on 28 December 2017. During the same call I reported that it is really difficult to open the top oven’s door. I followed up on 22 January since I have heard nothing from Defy since then. The person indicated that they are waiting for spares (glass). On the 7th of February I again called and the lady indicated that the troubles with the top oven’s door is not even mentioned on the system. She made an effort in tracing a glass and arranged that it be couriered to the technician. I emailed the call centre manager on 7 February 2018, indicating how frustrated I am with this oven and the poor after sale service from Devy. As to date I have not received a reply from him. The problems with the doors was finally fixed on the 12th of February (nearly 2 months after I called the call centre).

From yesterday, however, the bottom oven (thermo fan) is not working – it is not heating up at all. I again called the call centre.

This is clearly a faulty product. I demand that either the oven be replaced or that we receive our money back (never again to buy a Defy product)!
