Extremely Poor After-Sale Service - Not fixing the issues that is reported
I bought a side-by-side fridge from Defy 4 years ago. 2 years ago I reported a problem that the freezer is not freezing (under warranty). The technician came out and only did a regas and said that it is the problem with the fridge.
I then called them again after a couple of months with the same error and the technician came out again. They once again did not replace any parts or did anything to fix the core issue.
I called them back again today reporting the same issue for the third time (one year later). Now all of a sudden the fridge is out of warranty and I need to pay for the repair - but it is still the same issue that I reported twice before whilst the product was in warranty?
I can give a guarantee that now they will give me a list of issues that is wrong with the fridge and that I need to pay for the repairs. According to me, this was an issue with the fridge on the two previous calls as well where they did absolutely nothing about it.
I am reporting Defy to the Ombudsman as this is not ethical behaviour. If the error came up twice before during warranty and now again it means that the technician is not skilled enough to fix the core issue.
I have a KIC fridge that I bought 10 years ago and I've not had one issue with this fridge since day one. Fridges are meant to last a lifetime - not have the same issue every year.
I have changed all of my appliances away from Defy - not a trustworthy brand. I will not recommend Defy to anyone if I look at all of their reviews and my personal experience with them. Extremely poor after service with technicians that is not skilled enough to know what needs to be fixed.
