Defy's bad quality

I bought a Defy fridge in 2010 which last for 7 years only - the motor was faulty and had to buy a new fridge in 2017. Unfortunately also a Defy. Once again the fridge is dead and not working? What is going on with Defy that their quality of appliances is so bad? I am a pensioner who cannot afford to buy another fridge again., but who can afford to buy a new fridge every few years???????
