Defy XXL Airfryer failure.

I bought a XXL airfryer at Pick n Pay on the Bluff on the 29/05/2025 which has developed rust and has stopped working altogether. This is in a period of 4 months and 3 weeks. Defy refuse to take responsibility and do the right thing even though It is still well within the warranty period. I have reported the issue to the consumer ombudsman as I feel a product of this nature, from a reputable brand like Defy, should reasonably be expected to last for several years, not a mere five months. This premature failure, coupled with the rust development, indicates a clear failure to meet the reasonable standards of durability and quality as required by Section 55 of the CPA. I went against my better judgement of buying the leading name brand and now am paying the price for that decision.

Why after having to get the consumer ombud do i get satisfaction. I am pleased the issue has been resolved but am not happy that it had to get to this stage. Khumalo which is the Defy rep that took it forward is a asset to your company as he was on the ball and resolved the issue within 4 days
