Defy website claims fridge/freezer is auto defrost but it isn't

They don't deserve a rating. I bought a new fridge/freezer from them when I moved into my place about year ago. The salesperson assured me that the entire unit was auto defrost or frost free. It isn't. I initially logged a call because the unit was overfeeding and ice sheets were forming at the back of the fridge unit. A technician attended to the call and changed the thermostat but it was still over freezing. On the 2nd callout the technician adjusted the thermostat. It resolved the over freezing in the fridge compartment but not the freezer. I gave it some time to see if the freezer will defrost on its own. That didn't work. I then switched the unit off, defrosted it and cleaned out all the ice thinking that there was too much ice formed already for it to defrost on its own. That was 3 weeks ago. Guess what? It's still forming ice too quickly and doesn't defrost. On the 3rd callout, I was told by the technician that the freezer doesn't auto defrost and that I need to defrost it as needed. Barring the understanding, that this is supposed to be an auto defrost unit, surely a refrigerator this new should not be forming chunks of ice after just 3 weeks. If I go by the technician’s advice, I need to defrost the freezer unit every 3 to 4 weeks. Something does not add up here. I asked the technician if the freezer is supposed to forming this much ice after 3 weeks and he looked at me like I grew a second head, reiterated that it wasn’t auto defrost, took a photo of the freezer and left. I am highly irritated. The website clearly states that it an auto defrost unit. It does not specify that the auto defrost function only applies to the fridge and not the freezer. This unit is new and I refuse to keep something that doesn't work properly. I would like Defy to take their fridge back and refund my money back so that I can buy a fridge that actually works the way I need it to.
