Defy washing machine sounds like an aeroplane taking off!

Recently Purchased a Defy washing machine from Tafelberg furnishers.. Defy 7kg Front Loader Washing Machine - DAW384. It is rediculously noisy. My last washing machine (also defy) lasted me 12 years. It was very quiet. I can't believe that a newer model could be so noisy!!! And it takes an hour to wash clothes on the fastest wash (our previous one took 30 mins....) wish we could have tried it out before buying it... It is so noisy that it sounds like an aeroplane taking off (no exaggeration here....) it really hurts my ears. I could sell it and buy another, but wouldn't want to inflict this situation on anyone else... What can I do?
