Defy Warranty Pain

I honestly wish I could give no stars. To anyone reading this, please avoid purchasing any Defy products, especially if you think the warranty means anything. You are in for a world of pain.

Our washer-dryer combo became faulty within a year of purchase. We logged a call through Makro and were then left in Defy’s hands. They sent a subcontractor to examine the appliance, who informed us that the motor was faulty and needed to be replaced. He returned 1.5 weeks later, replaced a different part than what we were initially told, and the machine is still faulty. They refuse to replace the machine and tell us we need to speak to a manager, for which they provided a landline number. However, using this number, you then have to navigate through an automated answer system that nobody seems to answer… Their subcontractor also screens his calls and does not answer, except if you phone from a different number. Again, great service Defy.

It has been four weeks without a washing machine. They keep saying the contractor needs to come back and replace another part… I want a new machine. In no way do you want an expensive appliance to break in the first year, only to be repaired with multiple parts and then left to your own devices going forward.

I urge anyone reading this to avoid Defy. I wish I had listened to my own advice…
