DEFY TUMBLE DRYER WORST PRODUCT EVER

Dear Hello Peter, I would like to share my terrible experience i have had with a Defy Tumble dryer model code DTD235-DTD236. I purchased this machine through Takealot order number #*** aand it was delivered 22nd January to my home on Pennington. When we used the machine we found it was making a loud noise , Top of machine was tarnished and most of the panels were not lining up . We phoned Takealot and told not thier problem so we must phone Defy Service centre on *** which we did who in turn told us that it would cost us R650 call out fee for a technician to come out and inspect the machine . I objected strongly that we had only just recieved the machine. So after dialogue between Takealot and Defy service centre the fee was dropped . A technician came out on 27th March 2026 basically looked at the machine and said it was working . he told me the office would phone me after his report was completed . Nobody phoned from Defy so i phoned them and asked what was happening about the problem and was told the tehnician would come out again which he did on 9th April 2026 with his boss . looked at the machine and actually took the back of said the bearings were gone and agreed the panels were all skew . I told him to tell his seniors i wanted them to take the machine away and give us a credit for the purchase price of R4749 . To date nothing has happened and not once have Defy contacted myself but passed the buck . They refuse to take the machine back and refund me even though there are major problems with the machine .There is obviously no customer support or quality control at Defy but they just send out ******* for the public to buy. The machine we have stopped using and i was ********** almost R5000 with not a care in the world by Defy about the customer . Never again will i buy a Defy product or buy from Takealot. A senior manager should have contacted me but it would appear they are taking us for fools .
