Defy products not what it's made out to be

My wife and I bought a new house and decided to modernize the kitchen as it was a bit outdated and seeing as we still had a new defy oven we purchased a couple of months prior to purchase a new matching hob. In July 2018 we purchased a Brand new Defy Ceran Hob model DHD413 from Makro for R4999.00 and installed the unit. Beginning of November 2018 my wife was busy cooking and heard a noise from the stove and immediately switched it off. Upon investigation we found that the glass had cracked straight through from front to back. We contacted Defy expecting there to be warranty only to be told that the glass is not covered under warranty. Accepting the fact although not happy we decided to by the new glass. I call Defy and get a price and availability of the glass which they quoted and explained that they had 2 in stock, I make a trip to Defy in Jacob's and even though there system states they have stock on physical check there is in fact no stock and they can order but should take 3 to 4 weeks. So now I sit with a stove that is 4 months old and cannot use. Totally pathetic service and not anyone would expect from a company such as themselves
